For the longest time Marc Forster’s World War Z was going to be one of the film’s competing for the Christmas weekend alongside Quentin Tarantino’sDjango Unchained, and Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables, but that hasn’t been the case in a while. The project has reportedly gone through problem after problem each step of the way and has has been forced to have multiple reshoots and a rewritten ending. Now the film won’t actually be getting here until June 21, 2013, but already we have our first look at some footage.
Unfortunately, in classic ET style, the stupid announcer talks over the entire video, so it’s kind of the worst way to show the first footage from the movie. Perhaps they will someday learn that people want to listen to the trailer, not the person presenting it. It sounds like we’ll be getting the first trailer this Thursday, though, so that’s something.
Loosely adapted from Max Brooks’ book of the same name, the film stars Brad Pitt as Gerry Lane, an employee for the U.N. who travels the world to stop the outbreak of a zombie virus. In addition to Pitt the movie also features Matthew Fox, David Morse, Mireile Enos and James Badge Dale. We’ll have more about the movie later this week, and in the meantime, as always, you can browse our Blend Film Database for even more aboutWorld War Z.
