Is the Wii-U for Me and You?

Are You Excited yet?

Well the the cat is finally out of the bag. Nintendo has officially announced a street date for the Wii-U which will be in stores on Nov,18,2012. Just in time for the holidays. I’m sure alot of gamers are very excited, I know we all here are, in fact our calendar is already tagged with a giant red felt-tip circle around the number 18.

Here’s the question..will you buy it? I was a bit surprised at the price I’ll admit. The starting price is $299.99 for the Basic Set with 8GB RAM which comes in white and $349.99 for the Deluxe Set which ups the memory to 32GB of RAM and comes in black. (The original Wii launched on Nov.19,2006 at a price of $250 in the U.S. Six years ago.).

One of the major features that has us all excited is NintendoTVii, Not only does it make games and video much more fun, but incredibly interactive with its new controller. The implementations are limited only to the imagination. Everything is user friendly with simple swipes and gestures of your fingertips just like an iPhone. Not only has Nintendo apparently caught up to Sony and Microsoft in my opinion, but has again raised the bar with creativity and innovation. Make no mistake, Sony and Microsoft will be watching how consumers react to this new technology and adapt their own consoles and possibly controllers before their respective launches. Here’s a video which shows off some of the cool stuff on the Nintendo TVii:

Here come the games!

Its good to know alot of publishers have partnered with Nintendo also, especially those much needed 3rd party ones. They have a good list of over 50 games that will be in their launch window from Nov-Mar 2013. Lets hope they all make it: Nintendo says this will be there strongest launch to date and I have to agree.
